Episode 17: School of Rock

Queen’s historian Scott Rutherford joins me in the studio for a special discussion of the global sixties and the importance of music and culture as a historical source. We talk about Vietnam, Civil Rights, anti-apartheid and anti-colonial movements, Mexican and Japanese Beatle-wannabes, authenticity, modernity, and so much more. Oh yeah, and we play some great music too! Check it out!

Also: we ended the show with a Nina Simone track, and Scott mentioned the video. Check out the youtube clip here.
