Episode 27

Hey all! Here’s Episode 27: Quebec Love II, in which I riff on some of the themes of the previous episode, talk about Quebec as part of a wider North American continent, about the importance of the French language in the maintenance of an autonomous French culture surrounded by Anglophones. I also say a bit about how the progressive-rock flavour of much of the Québécois music produced during the early 1970s may have mirrored concerns about Quebec’s ‘maturity’ as a nation. Feat. Les Sinners, Les Misérables, Les Champignons, Michele Lalonde’s “Speak White”, L’Infonie, Franck Dervieux, La Nouvelle Frontière, etc.
