The Incredible Kaleidophone is a vehicle for Kaleidoscope Jones, aka S.D. Jowett, a graduate student and researcher in the Dept. of History at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The site was first launched as an online compliment to his weekly radio show, which broadcast 30 episodes between August 2009 and May 2010 on CFRC 101.9 FM (Queen’s Campus and Kingston Community Radio).

Since May 2010 the blog has taken on a different tone, presenting reviews, editorials, and essays inspired by the author’s passion for music, history, and sound studies. Posts often arise from his current PhD research for a dissertation tentatively titled “No Quiet Revolution: A Sonic History of Montreal 1965-1975”.

  1. Hey Steffen! Don’t ask me how I found your blog. Looks like you are doing well in K-town. A bit of a difference from Montreal but I hear folks like it there.

Hope all is well! Love the direction your research has taken.

  4. I nominated your blog for a Liebster Blog Award. I love reading your posts. Each one has been so interesting and I’ve shared each one with many more people. Check it out: http://ohmypotluck.wordpress.com/2013/10/23/the-liebster-blog-award/

    • Hey Kahht! Wow, I super regret not being more on the ball with my blog last fall! I was very busy and going through a lot personally, so I took a break from blogging for awhile. Thanks for nominating my blog, I’m very honoured. Hopefully now that I’ve returned to regular posting you will keep me in mind for future nominations. Cheers!

      • Yay! Oh man, I totally know about life getting busy, glad you’re back at it. I love reading your posts.
